I am pleased to announce the addition of a complete refreshed 2014 calendar. I have finally mastered Photoshop (I hope) and here is the evidence (sample above). In <Galleries> <Calendars> <2014 The Earth…> please compare the images in (3) (Re-refreshed) with earlier ones in (1) and (2).
The next post will be four weeks later on Saturday 12th April. Hopefully I will be able to report on the long-delayed craft book project.

We met several other artists (embroiderers, painters, bonsai growers and flower arrangers) and exchanged opinions. 数人の美術家 （刺繍、画家、盆栽、生け花）を出会って意見を交わしました。
My dearest and I also took a traditional break, Japanese style of course. 妻と一緒に伝統的の休憩をしました。もちろん日本的でした。

On 1st and 2nd of February I am taking part in our town’s cultural festival (the event that was postponed by a typhoon last October). I hope to post a report next week on the 1st.

Holocaust (1985) straightened まっすぐにした
フォトショップで絵を真っすぐにする方法を見つけました。 レサ・スナイダーさんの本「Photoshop CS6 The Missing Manual」は良く役に立ちました。
In “Photoshop” I found a way to straighten pictures. The book “Photoshop CS6 The Missing Manual” by Lesa Snider has much useful advice.
ずっと前人生に役に立つ本を読み始めました。 次の助言がある：－
「心を尽くして主に拠り頼め。 自分の悟りにたよるな。あなとの行く所どこにおいても、主を認めよ。 そうすれば、主はあなたの道をまっすぐにされる。」 箴言 3:5, 6
Long ago I began reading a very useful guide book for life. In it is this advice:-
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5, 6
もちろん聖書について語っています。 あなたは、読むことも、主の助言を受け取ることも、決して後悔しません。 主はあなたの道をまっすぐにされます。
Of course the book I am writing about is the bible. You will never regret reading it and taking the LORD’s advice. He will make your paths straight.

Holocaust (c1985) 大破壊
I like this painting. It has beautiful colours and patterns. I painted it a long time ago when I was immature, so the title is most unfortunate.
この絵が好きです。 美しい色と模様があります。 ずっと前描いた、まだ未熟の時、だから、題は残念です。
How can holocausts be prevented? We need world peace. How can we get world peace? We need peace in our hearts. How can we get peace in our hearts? We need to touch God.
どうやって大破壊を避けられますか。 世界平和が必要です。 どうやって世界平和を得ますか。 自分の心に平和が必要です。 どうやって心の平和を得ますか。 神様と接触する必要です。
”When we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son.” From Romans 5:10
「滴であった私たちが、御子の死によって神と和解させられた。」 ローマ 5:10より
God loves even his enemies. Jesus forgave the people who killed him. God turns enemies into friends. God touches us.
神様は敵でさえ愛されます。 イエス様はご自分を殺した人々を赦されました。 神様は敵を友達に造り返られます。 神様は私達と接触されます。
Jesus himself said that peacemakers are called sons of God. If you want to make peace you must have peace with God first. Only God’s love can overcome our hate, just as light overcomes the darkness.
イエス様が言われた： 平和を造る者は神の子どもとよばれます。 平和を造ろうと思ったら、神様との和解がいります。 光は闇に打ち勝つごとに、神様の愛こそ私たちの憎しみに打ち勝ちます。

This design for a Christmas card is based on St Francis of Assisi’s prayer for peace. このデザインは『フランシスコの平和の祈り』に基づいています。
If we have darkness we need light. If we have hatred we need love. If we have error we need truth…
暗やみには光、憎しみのために愛、誤りには真実が必要です。。。
The fruit of the light results in peace. 光の実の結果は平和です。
